    2. How is Joshua supposed to act? What is he charged with doing? What does God promise if Joshua follows His laws? What is Joshua supposed to recite twice a day? Why will this help?

    3. What does Joshua tell the commanders after meeting with God? What are they getting ready to do? When will they go?

    4. Why does Joshua remind three of tribes about an agreement previously made with Moses? What was that agreement? Who can stay behind and who must go? When can they return to the land that was given to them?

    6. Who does Joshua send to the land they are about to take? Whose house do the spies come to? What does the king of Jericho demand of the woman? How does she respond to the king? Is this action moral?

    7. Why did Rahab help the spies? What does she tell them about their knowledge of what God had done for the Israelites? What does Rahab request of the spies? What does Rahab have to do to ensure her safety? If she does not do this one thing, why will the oath be voided?

    8. Where do the spies go? How long do they stay? What do they report to Joshua? How is this different than what was reported to Moses earlier in their journey? What do they say about the people in Jericho?
